A Snowman quilt top - All Bundled Up
I made this top today for the quilt shop. It is called All Bundled Up and is a pattern by Debbie Mumm. The fabric is also her fabric line. This was fun and easy to make.

A baby quilt for little Elizabeth
I made this scrappy quilt for a new little person. Elizabeth was born October 15th to my friends Marion and Joey. Marion's theme for her nursery was Winnie the Pooh but I couldn't find any Winnie the Pooh fabric in time for her gift so I just used some of my scraps. I apologized for not making a Winnie the Pooh quilt and I was pleasantly surprised and tickled by Joey. He said he was so glad to get a normal quilt and he really liked it. He was glad it wasn't Winnie the Pooh. A sweet couple with a beautiful little girl....

Getting ready for Christmas with a little wall hanging-Spruce It Up
I made this cute little wall hanging last week and showed it at my quilt meeting. This is called Spruce It Up and is a 3 D pattern designed by Jackie Robinson of Jackie's Animas Quilts. It was a fun but challenging little quilt to make. Below is a closer view of the quilt.
More Christmas to come soon. I hope you enjoy your week and get some crafty time in. Til next time, happy stitching.

Tatting Demos at the State Fair.
Friday I took the day off and went to the great state fair of Texas. Me and another sweet lady, (Patty) did tatting demos all day at the Creative Arts Building. We had a lot of interest in the tatting and hopefully we will be having a lot more members come join our group. It was a lot of fun but we didn't even get a chance to walk around or eat either. So, Saturday, me and the hubs went to the fair and looked at all the displays in the Creative Arts Building (quilts, photos, tatting, crochet, knitting etc) and we played all day too. We will be doing more demos next year at the fair too. This was my 4th year to do this and it's fun. I'm always amazed at how many people say my Grandma used to do this. I'm also amazed at the men that are interested in it too. There were a lot of young people interested this year too. I'm really hoping they show up at our meeting so we can teach them to tat to pass on to the next generation. Fun times. Til next time, I hope you get some crafty time in.

Some pics from the Secret Pal Tea party
We were all asked to wear hats to the tea party but not everyone did. There was a contest and we voted on the best hat.
Sisters
We brought white elephant gifts to exchange. This package had pretty crochet paper wrapping.
More gifts
This lovely quilt was given away at the tea party.
Roxanne won the hat contest. She made this hat and it was a quilt stand with 6 quilts on it. The front of the hat had a pincushion her secret pal gave her. It also had crochet doilies on it.
The ladies that chose not to wear hats....
This was a wonderful party and I'm planning on joining this lovely group next year. I got to go this year to take pics but it was so much fun and the ladies are so nice, I just have to join. So. more pics next year! Til next time, happy stitching.

Secret Pal Tea Party
Yesterday, I went to a tea party. It was the first time I have attended this wonderful party. They have it every year but I've never gone. I'm not a member and that's why I've never gone but I was invited because I am the historian for our quilt guild and they wanted me to come and take pictures. Well, this party was so good that I am thinking about joining Secret Pals next year...ha, ha, it was fun. They always dress up, have a hat contest, bring a white elephant gift and bring a covered dish. I did all of that and the food was good and I got a great white elephant gift and another gift too for coming and taking pictures. I got a small quilt kit as a white elephant gift and I received a tea cup and saucer as a thank you for taking the pictures. Nothing like having fun and being rewarded for it too... As soon as I send the pictures to the group, I'll post some to my blog. .

Colored crosses and breast cancer awareness
As most of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. I went to a class last Thursday night and we colored crosses with ribbons of whichever color we chose for cancer awareness. Mine was pink for breast cancer. I am a survivor and this year is 10 years for me....I am truly blessed.
Here we are concentrating on coloring. It was a fun class. Very relaxing to color. We even had a young girl with us that night. She was with her Grandmother.

Here's our whole class...the youngster worked on a horse picture and she had fun too.
Every color means something but I can't remember what all of the colors stand for. Everyone in the class was a survivor or had a loved one effected by cancer. Please take care of yourself .
Happy Stitching,
